If your export arrived as a ZIP, unzip it first and then pick the folder..nii, .nii.gz) — the research format.Nothing is uploaded to view a scan. Decoding happens in your browser, so there is no server copy to leak, subpoena or forget to delete. That holds for the viewer and for most of the free tools.
Uploading only becomes necessary when you want an AI reading of the images — and at that point identifying DICOM tags are stripped on your device first.
